TrueBlueXT works quietly in the background. You don't have to do anything — just open it when you're curious.
Extension health check
Scans every Chrome extension you have installed and gives each one a risk score. Now you know what's actually living in your browser.
Tab overview
See all your open tabs at a glance. Warns you before you close a tab with a form or active payment page — so you don't lose your work.
Scratch pad
A quick notepad that lives inside the extension and auto-saves as you type. Jot something down, copy a link, keep notes — always there.
Stays out of the way
No pop-ups, no alarms, no interruptions. Open it when you want it — otherwise it stays quiet and out of your way.
Click each tab below to see what's inside TrueBlueXT before you install it.
CHECK — your browser health score
This is the first thing you see when you open TrueBlueXT. It runs a quick scan of all your installed extensions and gives you a single overall risk rating: LOW, MODERATE, or HIGH.
Below the summary you'll see each extension listed with its individual badge, so you can see exactly which ones are flagging.
- Hit RUN SCAN anytime to refresh
- See open tab count and extension count at a glance
- Top Suspect names your riskiest extension
EXT — your extension list
A simple, scrollable list of every Chrome extension you have installed, with a risk badge next to each name. Full picture at a glance.
Same information as CHECK, just in a cleaner list format — useful when you want to scroll through everything without the summary card.
- Shows icon, name, and badge for each extension
- Four badge levels: HIGH RISK, REVIEW, LOW RISK, CLEAN
- Sorted by risk level — worst offenders up top
TABS — all your open tabs
A list of everything you have open right now. The green dot marks your currently active tab.
The smart part: right-click any tab and TrueBlueXT will warn you if it looks like a checkout, login, or form page — so you don't accidentally close something important.
- Right-click any tab to switch to it or close it
- Warning shows before closing a sensitive page
- Great for cleaning up a crowded browser session
PAD — a quick notepad
A plain text scratch pad that lives inside the extension. Type anything — it saves automatically as you type. Close the extension, come back later: your notes are still there.
Hit COPY to copy everything to your clipboard. Hit CLEAR to wipe it (asks you to confirm first — no accidents).
- Auto-saves every half second as you type
- Survives closing and reopening the extension
- Two-step clear: click once to arm, again to confirm
Start here. Download the extension file, then the install wizard below will walk you through the rest — one step at a time.
TrueBlueXT Beta — v0.3.8
A small ZIP file. Nothing installs on its own — you stay in control the whole time. The wizard below takes about 2 minutes.
Download TrueBlueXT.zipFollow along one step at a time. Check each box as you go — takes about 2 minutes.
🔒 Your progress is saved automatically — even if you close Chrome or restart Windows, your checkboxes will still be here when you come back.
After clicking the download button above, your browser saved a file called TrueBlueXT.zip to your computer.
On Windows: Open File Explorer and click Downloads on the left side.
On Mac: Open Finder and click Downloads in the sidebar.
You should see the ZIP file there. Don't open it yet — first we'll unzip it in the next step.
Here are the things people run into most often during install.
Chrome says the extension might be dangerous — is that normal?+
Yes, completely normal. Chrome shows that warning for any extension loaded from outside the Web Store — including completely safe ones. It's a blanket caution, not a red flag about TrueBlueXT specifically. Click "Add extension" to continue.
I selected the folder but Chrome gave an error. What now?+
Most likely you selected a file inside the folder instead of the folder itself. Go back to Step 5, click "Load unpacked" again, and this time make sure you're clicking the folder named something like trueblueXT_v038 to highlight it — then click "Select Folder." Don't go inside the folder.
The extension installed but I don't see the icon in the toolbar.+
Click the puzzle piece 🧩 in the top-right of Chrome (to the right of the address bar). You'll see all your extensions — find TrueBlueXT and click the pin icon next to it. The shield icon will then appear in your toolbar permanently.
Do I need to keep the ZIP file or the folder after installing?+
Keep the unzipped folder — don't move or delete it. Chrome loads the extension directly from that folder every time. If you delete or move it, the extension will stop working. You can delete the ZIP file if you want to free up space, but keep the folder in place.
Still stuck? Just email Jeff.+
No problem at all — that's what the beta is for. Email [email protected] and describe where you got stuck. A screenshot helps if you can grab one, but it's not required. Jeff will get you sorted.
